Girls' Football 2023/24 End of Year Report

20th Jun 2024

Today marked the end of our brilliant year of Girls' Football in Holy Spirit Girls School, where we competed in the 'Fingal League' ⚽

Our year involved matches against schools from all over the county: Balbriggan, Blanchardstown, Edenmore, Kinsealy and Raheny.

From bus journeys and warm ups, to half-time huddles and cool downs, the students representing our school did so with determination and respect - and played some amazing games with moments we're sure the girls will remember ahead of next year! The girls should be very proud of their efforts this season.

We now bid farewell to the outgoing 6th Class students who have been a part of the school football team over the past 3 years. Thank you girls! We hope to see you all involved in Gaelic Games in the future!

Our 5th and 4th Class students will now step up and continue to develop their sense of responsibility and interpersonal skills through sport. We look forward to welcoming new students to our school team next year.

On behalf of the teachers involved, we would like to express our gratitude to parents/guardians for your support. Please continue to encourage your girls to get involved in sport!

Today we welcomed Ballymun Kickhams and Dublin senior footballer Paddy Small to our school where we presented students involved with football and camogie with certificates and pins in recognition of their brilliant season.

Many thanks to Paddy for coming in and sharing some words of wisdom and encouragement to our young athletes. We would like to wish Paddy and the Dublin Footballers the best of luck with the rest of the championship!
